Seeing Double: A Double Exposure Photographic Memoir
Linking two accounts of different experiences simultaneously was how my childhood was experienced. My perceptions of events are relayed from two memories rather than one, because I grew up with a twin sister. Most of the time if I cannot relay the full detail of an event my twin will recall the remainder of the story in my place. The oddest of all such experiences is not the existence of the same memories, but the non-existing recollection of an event, a forgotten or discarded reminiscence, which she can recall so vividly from our shared childhood experiences, but I cannot.
